中文版本:服务条款 · Related: Privacy Policy · Refund Policy · Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: 27 August 2026 Last updated: 27 August 2026

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you ("you", "Customer") and the operator of KnowUV ("KnowUV", "we", "us"). They govern your access to and use of the KnowUV website at knowuv.com, the short link and dynamic QR code service, the associated dashboards, and our APIs (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, purchasing credits or a plan, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

KnowUV lets you create short links and dynamic QR codes ("links") that resolve to destinations you control ("destinations"), and gives you tools built around them:

  • Short links and dynamic QR codes — one code, one or many destinations, editable after the code is printed or distributed.
  • Traffic distribution — weighted or round-robin selection across a list of destinations, A/B testing, and group-rotation for WeChat community links.
  • Visitor gates — optional password protection, SMS phone verification, geographic restriction rules, crawler filtering, and view-count limits ("burn after reading").
  • Landing pages and forms — hosted pages and lead-capture forms attached to a link.
  • Analytics — per-visit records and aggregate reporting for the links you own.
  • API access — programmatic creation and management of links using an account API token.

We may add, change or withdraw features. If we withdraw or materially degrade a feature you are actively paying for, section 12 (Changes) applies.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  1. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter into a binding contract.
  2. You must register with a working phone number or email address, and complete the verification we request. We may require additional verification before enabling higher limits or certain features.
  3. You are responsible for your account. Keep your password and API tokens secret. Every action taken with your credentials — including every link created through your API token — is treated as your action. Tell us immediately at cjh@knowuv.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
  4. Do not share, sell, rent or sublicense your account, and do not create accounts to evade a suspension or a limit.
  5. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation, and "you" means that organisation.

4. Acceptable use

Your use of the Service is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. It is not decorative: URL shorteners are routinely abused for phishing, malware distribution and fraud, and we operate active controls against that abuse.

In summary, and without limiting the AUP, you must not use a KnowUV link to point at, promote, or facilitate: phishing or credential harvesting; malware, ransomware or unwanted software; fraud, deceptive commerce or investment scams; illegal gambling; child sexual abuse material; content that sexualises minors; incitement to violence or terrorism; the sale of controlled substances, weapons or counterfeit goods; unlawful pornography; unsolicited bulk messaging (spam); or anything that is unlawful in the People's Republic of China, in your jurisdiction, or in the jurisdiction of the people you send the link to.

You are solely responsible for every destination you point a link at, including destinations that change after the link is created and destinations reached through further redirects.

  1. Pre-publication review. Links whose destination is not on our whitelist are created in an under review state and do not resolve to the destination until review completes. Review is normally automated and typically finishes within minutes.
  2. Automated review. We load the destination in an isolated browser, follow redirects, decode QR-code destinations, and assess the rendered page for the categories listed in the AUP. Links assessed as violating are disabled.
  3. Ongoing review. A link that passed review may be re-reviewed at any time, including in response to an abuse report. Destinations that are changed after approval may be reviewed again.
  4. Disabling and suspension. We may disable a link, suspend an account, or terminate an account without prior notice where we reasonably believe the AUP has been breached, where we are required to act by law or by a platform, payment or infrastructure provider, or where continued operation puts other users or the Service at risk.
  5. Appeals. If you believe a link or account was disabled in error, write to cjh@knowuv.com with the short code and the destination. We aim to answer appeals within two business days.
  6. No refund for policy breach. Where an account is terminated for a breach of the AUP, unused credits and unexpired plan time are forfeited. See the Refund Policy.

6. Fees, credits and billing

Prepaid credit balance. The Service is primarily metered. You add funds to a credit balance, and we deduct from that balance as you use the Service — typically a small amount per link created and per visit served. The applicable rates and your account's limits are shown in your dashboard and may differ between accounts and plans.

  1. Ledger. Every top-up and every deduction is recorded as a transaction against your account showing the amount, the resulting balance and the reason. You can review this history in your dashboard. The ledger is the authoritative record of your balance.
  2. Bonus credits. Top-ups at some amounts include additional promotional credit. Bonus credit is a discount, not money: it has no cash value, is not refundable and not withdrawable, and is consumed after purchased credit.
  3. Quotas. Accounts have daily and monthly link-creation limits and a daily visit limit. Requests over a limit are refused or shown a limit page; they are not queued. Limits may be raised on request or by plan.
  4. Running out of credit. If your balance reaches zero, existing links may stop resolving and creation of new links may be refused. We do not extend credit and do not invoice in arrears unless separately agreed in writing.
  5. Subscription plans. Where you buy a recurring plan, it renews automatically for successive periods at the then-current price until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
  6. Taxes. Prices are exclusive of VAT, GST, sales tax and equivalent charges unless stated otherwise. Where a merchant of record collects tax on the sale, the amount is shown at checkout.
  7. Price changes. We may change prices. For recurring plans, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before a change takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.

6.1 Merchant of record

Depending on how you buy, your contract for the purchase is with a reseller acting as merchant of record:

  • International purchases are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record. Paddle handles checkout, tax and refunds, and its buyer terms apply to the transaction. Your invoice and card statement will show Paddle.
  • Purchases inside mainland China are settled directly by us through Alipay or WeChat Pay.

These Terms continue to govern your use of the Service in both cases.

7. Your content, your data

  1. You keep your rights. You retain all rights in the destinations, landing-page content, artwork, form data and other material you supply ("Customer Content").
  2. Licence to us. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, transmit, render, cache and display Customer Content solely to operate, secure and support the Service — including loading and rendering a destination for the review described in section 5. This licence ends when the content is deleted, subject to backups and legal retention.
  3. Your warranties. You warrant that you own or are licensed to use the Customer Content, and that it and its use through the Service do not infringe anyone's rights or break any law.
  4. Visitor data. Analytics we collect about visits to your links is processed as described in the Privacy Policy. Where that data is personal data and you decide why it is collected, you are the controller and we are your processor. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and for giving your visitors the notices they are entitled to — in particular where you enable the phone-verification gate, which collects a verified phone number from each visitor.

8. Availability and support

  1. We work to keep the Service available and fast, but we provide it without an uptime guarantee unless a separate written service level agreement is in place.
  2. We may perform maintenance, and may suspend the Service where necessary to protect its integrity, to respond to a security incident, or to comply with the law. We will give advance notice of planned maintenance where practical.
  3. Support is available by email at cjh@knowuv.com. Our staffed hours are 08:00–22:00 China Standard Time (UTC+8), Monday to Friday. We aim to make first contact within one business day.
  4. Third-party dependencies — WeChat, Alipay, SMS carriers, CDN and cloud providers, and mobile operating systems — can change their rules or block link categories in ways we do not control. We are not liable for a change made by a third party, but we will tell you what we know.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, interfaces, documentation and branding, is owned by us and our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with them, and nothing more. Do not copy, decompile, reverse-engineer, scrape or create derivative works from the Service except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable by law.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

  1. Disclaimer. Except as these Terms expressly state, and to the maximum extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that automated review will identify every abusive destination.
  2. Exclusion. To the maximum extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost goodwill, or lost or corrupted data, however caused, even if advised of the possibility.
  3. Cap. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service and these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) USD 100.
  4. What is never excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are not affected by this section.

11. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, damages, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from (a) Customer Content, (b) any destination you point a link at, (c) your breach of these Terms or the AUP, or (d) your infringement of a third party's rights. We will notify you of any such claim and let you control the defence, provided any settlement that admits liability or imposes an obligation on us needs our written consent.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or by an in-product notice before they take effect, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not accept a material change, stop using the Service and contact us before it takes effect; where you have prepaid for a period or hold unused purchased credit, section 4 of the Refund Policy applies.

13. Term, suspension and termination

  1. These Terms apply from the moment you first use the Service until terminated.
  2. You may stop at any time by cancelling any recurring plan and closing your account from the dashboard, or by writing to cjh@knowuv.com.
  3. We may terminate for convenience on 30 days' notice, or immediately for a material breach of these Terms or the AUP, for non-payment, or where required by law.
  4. On termination: your links stop resolving, API access is revoked, and we delete or anonymise your data in line with the retention periods in the Privacy Policy. Export anything you need first. Sections 7.1, 9, 10, 11, 14 and any accrued payment obligations survive.

14. Governing law and disputes

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
  2. We would rather solve a problem than litigate one. Contact cjh@knowuv.com first; most disputes are resolved this way.
  3. Failing that, disputes will be submitted to the People's Court with jurisdiction at the operator's place of business in Baoji, Shaanxi.
  4. If you are a consumer, this section does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

15. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, the AUP, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the entire agreement between us on their subject matter.
  • Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • No waiver. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for a failure caused by an event beyond its reasonable control.
  • Language. These Terms are published in English and Chinese. Where the two differ, the Chinese version governs, because the operator is established in the People's Republic of China.
